Routine cleaning is simple—just use mild soap, water, and a medium to stiff bristle brush. Boat wash soap or other mild detergents work well. While Marine Mat is stain-resistant, substances like food, wine, fish blood, or grease may stain if left too long. To prevent stains, rinse spills immediately. For tougher spots, scrub with a stiff bristle brush, following the grain, and rinse thoroughly.

Snap-It Series Maintenance

Periodically remove Snap-It Mats to clean underneath and prevent water or debris buildup that could damage your deck. To clean, place mats on a flat surface like a driveway, dock, or deck and follow the same cleaning method. Let them air dry flat or hanging before reinstalling or storing in a compartment or cabin.

Although Marine Mat is weather-resistant, storing your boat, kayak, or vehicle covered or indoors when not in use will extend the life of your mats. Treat Marine Mat as you would vinyl marine seats, carpet, or other floor coverings—prolonged exposure to sunlight and water can reduce longevity.

Snap-It Storage Notes

Snap-It Series Mats are designed for wet use and easy cleaning, but they should not be stored on a wet deck or submerged. For best results, keep them snapped in place over a dry, clean deck and under cover when not in use. If storing the boat uncovered in the elements, remove the mats and store them in a dry compartment.

Material Memory

Marine Mat foam has memory retention. If an indent appears from a support pole or stored items, the mat will rebound over time and return to its original shape.

Refracted Light Caution

Like a magnifying glass, certain objects on a boat can focus sunlight, potentially causing blushing or minor surface burns. This is rare while boating but can occur if the boat is stored in direct sunlight at the right angle. To prevent this, cover your boat or remove Snap-It Mats when not in use. If blushing occurs, it will typically fade over time and blend into the mat.

Things to Avoid

To maintain your Marine Mat’s durability:

• Avoid dragging sharp objects (knives, tools, etc.) across the surface.
• Do not pressure wash, as it may damage the foam.
• Limit exposure to petroleum-based products, as they can cause stains that may be difficult to remove.
